  • Our 1840 Texas Heirloom Kitchen Pepper was widely used in the early days of westward expansion and was a commonly used seasoning during the American Civil War.  This seasoning contains no salt, as most people salted their foods to taste. This seasoning offers a true flavor of foods during the time period of the 1840’s.  Great for living history activities.
  • Uses: Apply as a dry rub to meat and rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour minimum. Grill or roast as desired. Add to soups and stews to enhance the flavor of your dishes.  Salt to taste, if desired. The spices in this recipe were in common use during this time period (early to mid-19th century).
  • Ingredients: White Ginger, Black Pepper, White Pepper, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cloves.
